Canonical DefinitionGovernance Delegation Standard (GDS) defines the structural conditions
under which governance authority delegations remain legitimate, attributable,
traceable, reviewable, governable, enforceable, auditable,
and operationally valid throughout the governance lifecycle.
GDS governs governance delegation.
The standard establishes the foundational conditions required to determine
how governance authority is transferred, delegated, distributed,
assigned, restricted, revoked, and reconstructed across
governance environments.
Governance authority may exist.
Governance authority may have boundaries.

Governance authority must also be transferable.

Modern governance environments rarely operate through a single governance actor.Governance authority is frequently delegated across organizations,
departments, governance layers, committees, operational environments,
AI systems, autonomous agents, and Human-AI ecosystems.
Failures often occur when governance delegation becomes unclear,
undocumented, unverifiable, untraceable, excessive, or governance-invalid.
GDS exists to govern these conditions.
